The Kidling is very good at losing things. She is especially good at losing marbles. Specifically, losing marbles under very low-to-the-ground and near-permanent fixtures.
Case in point, the stove.
Yes, last week, Alice lost a marble under the stove. We tried several kitchen tools to no avail. None was quite the right size to retrieve the lost ball of glass. Then Alice had an idea. She pointed to the space under the stove and observed:
“If Clifford’s leg was smaller than that and it could fit and he was real and could come out of the TV, then he could get it out.”
Indeed, Alice. If only…
Makes sense although I think the Cat in the Hat’s long tail just might do the trick to retrieve that marble.
It is my understanding he knows a lot about that…
Hehehe
Ah Clifford, you let us down…
I know. Jerk.
I suppose we expected to much from a big red dog..
You are probably right. I guess I need to work on managing my expectations.
Lol..
Isn’t Clifford the BIG red dog?
The biggest! Alice compares all large things to him: “Wow! That’s bigger than Clifford!” is a common exclamation in our home.
Clifford could solve so many problems! Brilliant, Alice.
He is such a helpful guy! If only here were smaller, and could fit, and were real, and…
I suppose it’s better than Alice losing marbles in, say her nose. Or ear?
One of Adam’s cousins happens to have a good story about that. It involves a kernel of corn, an ear, a week or so, sprouting, and a trip to the doctor. Oh, and restored hearing.
heeheehee…The Clifford Clause
I’ve got to love a good grammar joke. Thanks, K!
I thought you were going to say that Alice made you lose your marbles… hehe. Now, if we could just find an extra long crochet hook… hmmmmmm
Ha! Not today at least. Tomorrow might be another story. The Mama never knows what to expect!
