I love slow Saturday mornings. The Kidling pitter-pattered into our room a bit too early this morning. I tiptoed out of bed so as to not wake The Dada, then Alice and I went to her room for some snuggle time.
Blissful.
After half an hour or so of quiet chatting (during which I was not presented with any question regarding The Origin of Species or how the universe got here), we decided to make our way downstairs and start our day. As we crawled out of bed, The Kidling looked at me, scrunched up her nose, and said, “Your breath smells like salmon.”
Have a beautiful Saturday, dear readers. I am going to go brush my teeth…
Lol, sorry the mama I had to laugh at that…especially since my kids laughed at me recently and said “mommy, your bum is too big” little do they know they are staring at the future of their own bums.
Gotta love Alice. Have a lovely Saturday
That is fabulous. I hope you responded, “No girls, my bum is just right.”
Lol! Oh Alice!
This morning Eli got really close to my face, kissed me and then yelled, “Mama, wake up ‘da sun!” Le sigh.
Did you do it? If so, can I get you to make the sun to stay down a little longer on Monday morning?
Nope. I pulled the blanket back over my face and asked him to read me a book. He picked a book about dinosaurs. There were lots of “rawr”s.
Brilliant. Does your face hurt from all of the smiling? Mine most certainly would.
Absolutely.
I got back to inservice on Tuesday, so I will be working during the day (during the summer I can get away with working evenings). And I’m pouting that someone else gets Rawr dinosaur stories. It’s stupid. He’s my little bundle of joy. And I’m a crappy sharer.
You are supposed to be selfish with your child’s time. Be as crappy as you want to be… er… you know what I mean.
That’s what you get for eating salmon in bed.
I know. I was kind of asking for it.
She says salmon breath like it’s a bad thing. You don’t need a toothbrush, you need a bagel, capers, and cream cheese. Yum.
I won’t pretend lox didn’t cross my mind…
And now I’m hungry.
Um, nothing like a little stinky salmon breath to whet the appetite.
